about inner harmony wellness

Inner Harmony Wellness Center has been practicing the belief that you don’t have to be sick to get well, since 1997. The center was founded by meditation master and certified health and wellness counselor, Peter Amato, MA (Transpersonal Psychology), and has stayed at the forefront of growing centers of it’s kind for nearly fifteen years. Being a pioneer of integrative medicine in Northeastern Pennsylvania, Inner Harmony is transforming the delivery of healthcare into a patient-oriented process that focuses on the integration of mind, body, spirit, and community. We are committed to improving total wellness by offering programs and services dedicated to assessing and treating the medical, nutritional, physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of our patients.

Integrative Medicine is a whole-person, relationship based model of care that uses a multi-disciplinary approach. Designed to create the best path of healthcare for each individual, integrative medicine combines conventional western practices with alternative and holistic therapies. Both doctors and patients alike are bonding with the philosophy of integrative medicine and its whole-person approach focused on treating the person, not just their current symptoms.

The partnership between patient and practitioner is essential in delivering the best medicine practices from a cohesive balance of conventional, alternative, and complementary therapies. While some of the treatments used may be nonconventional, a guiding principle within integrative medicine is to use methods that have high-quality scientific evidence to support them and are fully physician supervised.

For many people in recovery—whether newcomers or veterans with years in the program—the 11th Step (seeking through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God . . .) can prove confusing and elusive. What exactly does it mean to pray and meditate? How does one go about making conscious contact with a Power greater than oneself? What does one do if he or she is not religious? Soul Silence: A Unique Approach to Mastering the 11th Step outlines a comprehensive program that answers these questions and offers clear definitions and instructions for prayer and meditation, teaching you how to listen within for spiritual insights that are key to ongoing sobriety and abstinence. Part guidebook, part memoir,Soul Silence is written by Peter Amato, M.A., a meditation master and psychotherapist with sixteen years of sobriety. His tried-and-true approach to prayer and meditation is the cornerstone of his Inner Harmony Workshops, which have helped thousands of men and women develop a new understanding of the 11th Step, recommit to their recovery, and enjoy lives filled with peace, passion, and purpose.
